The Story Behind the Kokanee Krew

Growing up in Heber Valley, adventure was never far from home. Some of Utah’s best reservoirs and streams were just 5 to 25 minutes away, and as a kid, my days were spent riding my bike to creeks and rivers, chasing fish wherever the water led. Those early days sparked a lifelong passion, starting with fly fishing the Provo River and quickly expanding into float tubes, reservoirs, and exploring every opportunity our local waters had to offer.

That curiosity turned into an obsession with learning and mastering each species that swims our waters. Everything changed when my cousin Roger introduced me to kokanee fishing. From the first challenge, I was hooked. Kokanee demanded patience, precision, and time on the water—and I couldn’t get enough. Years of learning, listening, and grinding on the water shaped not just my skills, but my vision.

Eventually, that passion turned into a calling. I knew I wanted to share the thrill, the challenge, and the reward of kokanee fishing with anyone willing to take the journey. What started as countless hours on the water became Kokanee Krew Outfitters—an adventure built on passion, hard-earned knowledge, and a deep love for Utah’s incredible fisheries.

Every trip is more than fishing. It’s about the adventure, the pursuit, and the stories made along the way.
